WVTF Book Club 2010 Dates & Books

Next Meeting:  Tuesday, March 30, 7:00 pm - WVTF Studio:   Our March selection is the 1979 book "Sophie's Choice" by William Styron, a thrilling and poignant story of a Holocaust survivor and her haunting past.  Distinguished novelist and critic John Gardner called it “a philosophical novel on the most important subject of the twentieth century" in The New York Times Book Review.  Leading the discussion will be club member Joan Bugbee, who comes from a family full of writers and was herself a Phi Beta Kappa journalism major.  Retired from a successful career in business, she now reviews books for the Roanoke Times and is active in volunteer work.  See the entire list of great books selected for 2010 discussions below.
